Putin's inner circle doesn't back the war but is too afraid to say so – WP

Most people in the entourage of Russian president Vladimir Putin do not support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but are afraid to tell him about it, reports The Washington Post.
According to the outlet, war fatigue in Moscow is growing on all sides. According to an unnamed Russian official, most leaders in the Kremlin oppose the war but are afraid to say so to Putin.
“Everyone is scared of Putin. People do not want to talk about compromising because they all need to show that they are patriots,” the source said.
Another person closely connected to the Kremlin, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the summit between Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska is a real chance to end the war, and that the meeting was conceived to “soothe the Russian elites, for whom this war is a disgrace, and want everything to get back to normal.”
