Putin's envoy tells on progress regarding ceasefire in Ukraine and beyond

Putin's special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, held a series of meetings with representatives of the Trump administration in Washington. He made several statements, including on the issue of Ukraine, according to Russian media.
Specifically, according to Dmitriev, significant progress was made regarding an agreement on a ceasefire in Ukraine. Additionally, he made several statements about the relations between Moscow and Washington:
- The Trump administration is creatively inclined and behaves respectfully in dialogue with Russia.
- US companies are ready to fill the niches left by European companies that left Russia.
- Russia and the US are discussing the restoration of direct air links.
- Discussions with representatives of the Trump administration also covered cooperation in the Arctic and rare earth metals.
- A series of additional meetings between the US and Russia will be needed to resolve all differences.
Putin's envoy's visit to Washington
It was reported on Wednesday, April 2, that the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, would travel to Washington for a meeting with Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff. It is known that sanctions against Dmitriev were temporarily lifted to allow for the visit.
In the early hours of April 3, Reuters confirmed that the meeting took place. Earlier, CNN had announced that the visit would focus on discussions regarding the US and Russia's efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
