Putin's daughter continues to publish in scientific journals in the US and Switzerland - Media
The scientific papers of the elder daughter of Russian dictator Maria Vorontsova continue to be published in journals in the United States and Switzerland, despite Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, according to the "Mozhem obyasnit" (We Can Explain) project.
Maria Vorontsova holds a Ph.D. in medical sciences and is an endocrinologist by education. She continues to be published in Western scientific journals.
How it was discovered
The "Mozhem obyasnit" project specifies that references to her publications can be found on the website of Moscow University "Istina," where scientific texts of all university staff are collected.
In which scientific journals Vorontsova is published?
"She writes articles on endocrinology and medicine in American and Swiss publishers: The Endocrine Society and MDPI Publishing. In 2022 and 2023, four texts by Vorontsova were published," the material states.

Three of them were published after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Vorontsova releases articles not alone but in collaboration with colleagues from Moscow State University, particularly from the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine, where she has been Deputy Dean since 2022.
Sanctions do not prevent Putin's daughter from publishing articles
The NAPC mentions that the EU, UK, we, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and Ukraine have sanctioned Maria Vorontsova.
The sanctions do not prohibit publication in scientific journals in Western countries; some even pay for such work. However, in most cases, the authors pay for the opportunity to be published in journals.
"Mozemo Pojasniti" explained that the article should undergo censorship before publication. MDPI Publishing has been around since the mid-1990s, and these are open-access journals. As for The Endocrine Society, it is considered quite reputable in scientific circles.
The publications of Putin's daughter in these scientific journals may affect the reputation of the publishers.
