Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has instructed the Russian military command to significantly enhance the combat capabilities of Russia’s ground forces, according to a broadcast from the Kremlin-affiliated channel Smotri.

According to Putin, ground forces remain the dominant force in "modern military operations of any scale and intensity." In this context, he emphasized the importance of enhancing their efforts.

"It is crucial to rapidly boost their combat potential, create a strong foundation for further development, and ensure the development of advanced weapon systems with top-tier tactical and technical characteristics and modernization potential," the President said.

In addition, he instructed that the navy be further developed and claimed that Russia supposedly possesses the most advanced nuclear triad in the world.

"Currently, the share of modern weapons and equipment in our strategic nuclear forces has reached 95%. That’s a strong figure, essentially the highest among all nuclear powers," Putin stated.

Continuing on the topic, he ordered special attention to be paid to nuclear weapons as a guarantee of Russia’s sovereignty in the new state armament program covering the years 2027 to 2036.

Other statements by Putin

The Kremlin leader demanded that Russia prepare infrastructure in advance for "new weapon systems," specifically referring to aircraft.

"It is important to calculate needs in advance and begin preparing infrastructure for the deployment of new weapon systems, including bases, arsenals, airfields, and more," he said during a meeting on armaments.

Putin specified that funding for the construction and modernization of Russia’s bases, arsenals, and airfields must be separately secured in the relevant state program.
