Russian leader Vladimir Putin is trying to sow discord among Americans. For this purpose, Russia is even using artificial intelligence, states John Kirby, coordinator of the National Security Council at the White House.

Commenting on the sanctions imposed on the Russian state media network RT for a campaign to try to influence the 2024 US elections, Kirby said that the threat of Russian election interference is “more sophisticated” than in previous election campaigns.

“They're using artificial intelligence, in one case they funded a company based in the United States, in Tennessee... So it's not just about Russian bots, trolls, and fake social media personalities, although that's part of it, they've become much more sophisticated,” he said.

According to the coordinator, there is “no doubt that Putin is trying to sow discord” among Americans through disinformation and propaganda. Americans should take this seriously.

The official said he was relying on the investigative authorities in this matter.

“We will allow the investigators to identify the facts as they come in and take appropriate action.”

It was recently reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden plans to accuse Russia of attempting to influence the US election.

At the same time, it became known that Moscow was using the media and online platforms to do so.

The very next day, the United States blocked dozens of Russian propaganda outlets. The Americans discovered that the Russians were disguising fake websites as popular American and European resources.

Yesterday, the US Attorney's Office accused the political scientist of violating sanctions. Russian-American political expert Dimitri Simes received over a million dollars from the Russian media network RT.
