Putin denies talking to Trump, but he still ready to meet
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during the so-called Year in Review, denies that he has spoken to US President-elect Donald Trump. However, he claims that he is ready for a meeting.
“I have not spoken to him (Trump - ed.) for more than 4 years. I am ready for this at any time. I will be ready to meet him if he wants to,” Putin said.
The dictator added that if he and Trump ever have a meeting, they “will have a lot to talk about.” At the same time, Putin criticized the American journalist who asked the question and accused him of wanting to see Russia weakened.
“I believe that Russia has become much stronger than the previous 2-3 years. We are becoming a truly sovereign country, we are not dependent on anyone anymore. We are able to stand on our own feet in terms of the economy. We are strengthening our defense capabilities... we are increasing the production of everything we need for the army and navy, and we are doing it confidently, at a rapid pace, which cannot be said about our opponents,” he said.
When asked whether Russia would compromise in possible negotiations with Ukraine, the dictator said he was supposedly ready for negotiations and compromises. The dictator also accused Ukraine of freezing the talks.
“Negotiations always result in compromises. After all, we reached an agreement in Istanbul at the end of 2022. The Ukrainian side initialed this document, so it generally agreed with it. Then, for some reason, it refused. Well, it's understandable why. Your ally, Mr. Johnson, with a nice hairstyle, came and said that we need to fight to the last Ukrainian, and they are fighting, and soon they will run out of Ukrainians who want to fight,” he said.
Trump and Putin's conversation
The Washington Post reported that after the US election, Donald Trump called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The conversation allegedly took place on November 7.
According to sources, the Republican advised the Russian dictator not to escalate the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Kremlin denies that Putin spoke with Trump after the election.
Trump claims that he did not have a conversation with Putin. He said he did not want anything to interfere with negotiations on the war in Ukraine.
