Putin approves 2025 Russian budget with record war funding
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has signed the law on Russia's budget for 2025. A record amount will be allocated for the war, according to the Associated Press.
According to Russian state media, the Russian government has set budget revenues for over 40 trillion rubles.
Approximately 32.5% of Russia's budget was allocated to defense, amounting to 13.5 trillion rubles (over $145 billion). This is an increase compared to 2024, when Russia allocated 28.3% of its budget to defense.
Both chambers of the Russian parliament also approved this budget plan.
Ukraine's budget
This week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the 2025 budget. Total expenditures for the upcoming year are projected at 3.6 trillion hryvnias, with revenues expected to be 2.05 trillion hryvnias.
2.23 trillion hryvnias have been allocated for defense and weapons. 420.9 billion hryvnias are designated for social protection, 217 billion for healthcare, and 199 billion for education.
