On the eve of the European leaders’ summit in London, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "A good meeting with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, to develop a joint action plan for ending the war with a just and lasting peace," Zelenskyy stated.
He emphasized that no one except Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is interested in prolonging the war, making it crucial to maintain unity around Ukraine.
"No one is interested in prolonging or seeing a swift return of war, except for Putin. That is why it is important to maintain unity around Ukraine and strengthen our country’s position in cooperation with allies — the European nations and the United States," the president added.
Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine needs peace backed by reliable security guarantees.
