The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine has stated that confirmation of the death of the founder of the Wagner Private Military Company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is yet to be awaited, as mentioned by the representative of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi, during a television marathon.

He noted that there was a previous incident where Prigozhin was supposedly killed in an aviation accident. However, it later turned out that he was alive.

"Let's wait and see. It's not that simple. This is Russia, and it's difficult to understand," added Skibitskyi.

Air crash in Tver region

On August 23, in the Tver region of Russia, a plane crashed, and it was later revealed that among the passengers were the leader of the "Wagner Group" mercenaries, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and other high-ranking mercenaries.

A few days later, Russia confirmed the death of Prigozhin and conducted a closed-format burial. Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated that the information regarding Prigozhin's death requires some more time for confirmation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the other hand, believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is likely involved in Prigozhin's death.
