After visiting Türkiye, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to visit Albania. Then a visit to Rome is possible, according to The Guardian.

The media outlet writes that during the visit to Albania, Zelenskyy will meet with European politicians. After that, he may head to Rome and attend the inaugural mass of the new Pope Leo XIV.

"I think it could happen on Sunday. If it works out. We don’t know what this week will bring. We have come to the moment when we don’t know what will happen tomorrow," the president explained.

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Türkiye

During the night of May 11, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin rejected the proposal to cease hostilities but expressed readiness to resume negotiations with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul. In response, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine does not oppose the start of dialogue with Moscow, but emphasized that the mandatory precondition for this must be the introduction of a ceasefire regime.

Later, Türkiye officially confirmed that it was ready to act as a mediator in the planned dialogue.

In addition, Special Representative of the President of the United States of America, Keith Kellogg, emphasized that negotiations are possible only after the establishment of a ceasefire regime.
