Powerful magnetic storms approaching Europe: Dates of storms

Powerful magnetic storms approaching Europe: Dates of storms Will there be a magnetic storm this weekend? (photo: Freepik)

Scientists predict an increase in solar wind and increased solar activity from February 21 to 23, which will cause intense geomagnetic disturbances and even a powerful geostorm. This phenomenon may affect the operation of communications, electronics and human health.

What is a magnetic storm

Solar flares and coronal mass ejections release huge amounts of energy and charged particles into outer space. When these particles reach the Earth's magnetosphere and interact with it, a disturbance occurs - a magnetic storm. This natural phenomenon can affect both technology and the physical and emotional state of humans.

How magnetic storms affect humans

Physical well-being. During magnetic storms, sensitive individuals may experience headaches, migraines, dizziness, insomnia, weakness, and fatigue.

Emotional state. Intense solar activity can cause increased anxiety, irritability, depression, and even depression.

Sleep. Changes in the magnetic field can affect the quality of sleep, causing insomnia or excessive sleepiness during the day.

The most common complaints on the days of magnetic storms:

  • Headache
  • Migraine
  • Dizziness
  • Fog in the head
  • Insomnia
  • Weakness
  • Drowsiness during the day
  • Decreased concentration
  • Increased anxiety
  • Irritability
  • Aggression
  • Depressive states
  • Surges in blood pressure
  • Problems with heartbeat

Forecast of magnetic storms for the coming days

February 21 (Friday). A strong red-level magnetic storm (K-index 5) is expected. An intense magnetic field disturbance is predicted, which can cause headaches, fatigue, and emotional imbalance.

February 22 (Saturday) The magnetic storm remains at a high level of activity (K-index 5). There may be malfunctions of electronic devices, and communication systems, and deterioration of people's health sensitive to weather changes.

February 23 (Sunday) Gradual decrease in the intensity of the storm (K-index 4), but the impact may still be felt throughout the day.

Forecasts are subject to change as the Sun's activity is very unstable. Therefore, it is recommended that you regularly check for updates from official sources.

How to protect yourself from magnetic storms

Doctors advise to follow the following recommendations on days of active magnetic activity:

Good sleep. Try to sleep at least 7-9 hours a day.

Balanced diet. Include more vegetables and fruits in your diet, and avoid spicy, salty, and junk food.

Water. Drink enough water throughout the day.

Fresh air. Regular walks and airing the room will help to support the body.

Reduce physical activity. Avoid overload and stressful situations.

Medical consultation. If your health deteriorates significantly, consult a doctor.

Earlier, we wrote that doctors named the causes of frequent headaches in the morning.

We also talked about which popular foods can cause headaches.
