Green tea has long been considered one of the healthiest beverages in the world. Its benefits can be enhanced even further by adding two simple spices.
RBC-Ukraine reports what can boost the benefits of green tea.
Health benefits of green tea
Green tea is best consumed in its natural form, without sugar or milk. Because it is unfermented, it retains the maximum amount of nutrients and its natural flavor. The drink contains vitamins A, C, E, and B-complex, amino acids, polyphenols, as well as potassium, fluoride, and zinc.
Loose-leaf tea is especially valuable, as it has the highest concentration of beneficial compounds.
Polyphenols, powerful antioxidants, play a key role in green tea’s effects. They help neutralize free radicals, which are linked to premature aging and the development of many diseases.
Drinking two to three cups a day may help reduce the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease. Flavonols support vascular health, aid toxin elimination, stabilize blood sugar levels, and may even help reduce fat deposits.
What to add to green tea
Although green tea is already healthy on its own, its effects can be enhanced. Experts recommend combining it with turmeric and black pepper.
Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It supports immunity, aids digestion, helps regulate blood sugar, and benefits skin health.
However, curcumin is poorly absorbed by the body. That’s why it is recommended to consume it together with black pepper. The piperine in black pepper significantly increases curcumin’s bioavailability.
In addition, black pepper may improve concentration, support nutrient absorption, and boost metabolism.
How to prepare the drink
To get the maximum benefits, brew green tea and add:
-
1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
-
A pinch of black pepper
-
1 teaspoon of honey
-
Juice of half a lemon
This drink is recommended once a day, preferably in the morning. It gently energizes the body and supports overall wellness.
Green tea combined with spices is a simple way to make your daily diet healthier without extra costs. Sometimes small changes in habits can have noticeable health effects.
