Potential Russian attack on Ukraine on Easter: Air Force comment
Ukrainian Air Force remains vigilant for potential Russian attacks on Ukraine during Easter night on May 5, but assures readiness to fend off any possible enemy attacks, according to the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force Illia Yevlash.
"We cannot rule out the possibility that the treacherous enemy might just spoil people's celebration during Easter night by launching their missile strikes," he said.
Yevlash emphasized that the Ukrainian Air Force, in turn, is expecting and prepared to repel any enemy attack.
"However, people need to remain vigilant at all times, whether it's Easter or just an ordinary day," he cautioned.
Security measures reinforced ahead of Easter
This year, Ukrainians will celebrate Easter on May 5. However, due to ongoing hostilities, the festivities will be subject to certain restrictions.
The Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine warns of potential missile provocations from Russia during the Easter holidays.
Furthermore, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted security measures in downtown Kyiv. Among the main locations were Sofiivska and Mykhailivska Squares and the surrounding areas.
During the Easter holidays, over 7,000 rescuers and more than 2,200 units of special equipment will be on duty in Ukraine to respond to possible emergencies.
