Possible Ronaldo return to Real Madrid: When Cristiano could play for Los Blancos?

Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr may return to Real Madrid to play in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup, as his current team did not qualify for the tournament, Sky Sports reports.
Ronaldo's potential return to Real Madrid
FIFA is preparing to open special transfer windows from June 1 to June 10, which will also be in effect during the Club World Cup in the USA. This is necessary so that teams can register new players for the tournament and sign short-term contracts with them. After the final match, players who participated in the USA tournament will be able to leave their teams.
Thus, Ronaldo could sign a contract with Los Blancos and play for them in the Club World Cup in the USA. After that, Real Madrid may choose not to extend his contract. As a result, Ronaldo would become a free agent, as his current contract with the Saudi club runs until June 2025.

This season Portuguese forward has played 33 matches for Al-Nassr, scoring 28 goals and providing 4 assists. According to Transfermarkt, Ronaldo's estimated market value is around 12 million euros.
Revamped Club World Cup
Earlier, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has decided to change the format of the Club World Cup. Instead of the previous seven teams, the new tournament will feature 32 clubs, including:
- 12 teams from Europe
- 4 teams from Africa
- 4 teams from Asia
- 4 teams from North America
- 6 teams from South America
- 1 team from Oceania
- 1 host team.
Qualification for the tournament was based on clubs' performances in the Champions League, Copa Libertadores, and other competitions. This means that from Europe, fans will see teams like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter, Porto, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Atlético Madrid, and even Red Bull Salzburg.
The tournament format will be similar to the FIFA World Cup. All teams will be divided into eight groups (four clubs in each). The top two from each group will advance to the knockout stage to compete for the main trophy.
