Possible reason for Zelenskyy's visit to Argentina - Reuters
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is traveling to Argentina to enlist the support of the Global South. This is the first visit of a Ukrainian leader to Latin America since the beginning of the full-scale war, reports Reuters.
According to the media source, Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes to convene a global peace summit and promote the Ukrainian formula for peace, which is based on the withdrawal of Russian troops and a return to the 1991 borders.
Reuters notes that Ukraine is trying to establish ties with governments in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. But support for Israel contradicts the positions of some of these countries.
In addition, Zelenskyy may use the inauguration of Argentina's new president, Javier Milei, to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The Ukrainian president will likely try to resolve differences over Ukraine's accession to the EU before the summit of European leaders.
