Popular breakfast drink can make you live longer
Scientists report that a certain drink may reduce the risk of several chronic diseases, including cardiovascular issues, cancer, respiratory diseases, and cognitive decline, according to Ageing Research Reviews.
Which drink helps to increase lifespan
Many people start their day with coffee to wake up and feel energized for what lies ahead.
According to a scientific review, regular coffee consumption can extend your healthy life by almost two years.
Researchers from Portugal analyzed more than 50 studies, focusing on how coffee affects human health and aging.
The findings showed that drinking coffee could increase the average lifespan by 1.8 years, benefiting both men and women. However, coffee is not the only drink that can help people live longer.
The results suggest that coffee can lower the risk of several chronic diseases, including cardiovascular issues, cancer, respiratory diseases, and cognitive decline.
The health benefits of coffee are believed to stem from its more than 2,000 potentially bioactive compounds. These include polyphenols, which may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, such as helping regulate insulin sensitivity and reducing neuroinflammation.
Despite the benefits, the authors recommend moderation when consuming coffee, and the European Food Safety Authority states that three to five cups of coffee a day are completely safe for adults.
