Pope Francis to be discharged from hospital: Date revealed

Pope Francis is set to return to his residence in the Vatican tomorrow, March 23. Doctors have prescribed him two months of rehabilitation, the Vatican press service reports.
The Pope, who spent over a month at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, will return to his Casa Santa Marta residence on March 23, Professor Sergio Alfieri, Head of the Gemelli Hospital medical team, said during a meeting with journalists.
According to the press service, although Pope Francis's condition has stabilized, doctors insist on the necessity of a two-month rehabilitation period. It is known that during his hospitalization, there were two critical episodes when his life was at risk. However, throughout this time, the Pope remained conscious, and his respiratory system functioned without the need for artificial ventilation.
In the last two weeks, the pontiff's health has significantly improved. His voice, which he partially lost due to oxygen therapy, is gradually recovering, and doctors have noted positive dynamics. Despite this, Pope Francis still needs time for a full recovery.
Pope Francis's condition
On February 9, Pope Francis shortened his sermon due to breathing problems. He explained this as a bronchitis attack. Later, he was hospitalized.
Reports indicated that the Pope had bilateral pneumonia. Politico even claimed that Pope Francis was on the verge of death.
At the beginning of March, Pope Francis's condition remained critical. In addition, amid his serious illness, the Vatican considered several candidates for the position of the new Head of the Holy See.
Earlier today, reports revealed that Pope Francis, due to prolonged use of oxygen therapy, has had to relearn how to speak.
