Polish volunteer dies fighting in Ukraine
A 22-year-old volunteer from Poland, Tomasz Sękala, has died in the war in Ukraine. He was farewelled at Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv on July 20, reports RMF24.
The soldier was part of the International Territorial Defense Legion.
"Born on September 1, 2001, Sękala joined the Legion in the fall of 2023. He died on the battlefield on July 13 in the village of Dibrova, Sievierodonetsk district, Luhansk region," the publication stated.
He will be buried in Poland.
Death of foreign volunteers in the war in Ukraine
Numerous foreign volunteers have been reported killed in Ukraine. Recently, Georgian volunteer Zurab Iashvili died fighting for Ukraine. He passed away in a military hospital in Lviv after being wounded.
Additionally, in June, a Dutch volunteer and an Estonian volunteer, Martin Jaeger, died in the war. Jaeger was the third Estonian citizen to die defending Ukraine. Furthermore, it was reported in June that a Czech volunteer also died on the frontlines.
