Polish President Karol Nawrocki believes Russia remains a threat to Europe, just as it was for many years before the invasion of Ukraine. He says the only person capable of dealing with this threat is US President Donald Trump, BBC reports.
In particular, Nawrocki said that Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot be trusted.
According to him, Poland knows no Russia other than an aggressive one. Tsarist Russia, White Russia, Bolshevik Russia, or today’s Putin's Russia have always posed a threat to Poland, Europe, and East-Central Europe, he added.
Nawrocki added that since Russia remains a threat to Europe, the only person who can stop this threat is the US President. He called on Europe to do everything possible to support Trump in his efforts to contain Russia and end the war in Ukraine.
In the early hours of January 9, Russia struck the Lviv region with a medium-range ballistic missile. It later emerged that the missile was an Oreshnik – initially claimed by Russia, and later confirmed by Ukraine after analyzing the missile’s remnants.
The missile fell near the border with Poland. Kyiv had warned Warsaw about the possible use of an Oreshnik missile by Russia before the attack began, allowing the Polish military to prepare air defense systems and track the hypersonic target’s trajectory from the moment it was launched.
