The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, stated that Russia has decided on its own that it is an enemy of the European Union and, through its actions, shows everyone that it is actively preparing for further combat operations, according to RMF24.FM.

"But if a neighbor attacks another neighbor who is located near us, this entails consequences. If Russia is spying, sending arsonists here, threatening us, including with nuclear weapons, then Russia has decided that it is the enemy of the West," said Sikorski.

According to him, in Russia, they promote "fascist and imperial ideology," preparing society for aggression. Therefore, Poland has every reason to fear Russia.

"It’s nice that the President of the United States is beginning to speak about what European leaders have been telling him for half a year, but the real test will be whether the US adopts a new package of sanctions," the Foreign Minister added.

Poland is preparing for war

In recent years, Poland has taken a course toward increasing and modernizing its own army, purchasing modern models of weaponry.

Earlier, the head of the Polish MFA stated that currently, Russia is not capable of defeating Ukraine without external assistance. However, in the case of capturing Ukraine and its resources, Russia would gain a significant advantage in the power balance.

Against this background, Sikorski warned about a possible “wider aggression” by Russia by the end of the decade.

Later, in Poland it was stated that the country would be able to defend itself from an enemy attack for one to two weeks. During this time, help from NATO allies should arrive. According to the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, the Polish army still has a mix of old and new equipment, and the shortage of ammunition mainly concerns outdated equipment.
