Poland will increase the presence of troops in the east of the country in the areas bordering Belarus and Russia, as well as Lithuania and Ukraine, states Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The head of the defense ministry clarified that the presence of the Polish army will be increased in the Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Lubelskie, and Podkarpackie regions.

"I want to assure you of this because this is our sense of existence," he emphasized.

The head of the Polish Defense Ministry said that the Border Guard is supported by the military within the framework of the Podlaskie Military Task Force. Such measures are planned for next year.

Speaking about the increase in military presence on the border, Kosiniak-Kamysz added that it will be a "permanent presence." Among other things, it is also planned to build and equip new shelters for the units.

The Polish minister added that the measures are aimed at deterring potential enemy attacks and attacks.

Poland is strengthening its army

The Polish Armed Forces will receive almost 500 American HIMARS missile systems.

Last March, Western media reported that Poland was building the largest land army in Europe.

It was also reported that in March 2024, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Russia could soon restore its military potential and attack NATO countries as early as 2026.
