Tomorrow, on April 2, Polish farmers plan to resume blocking traffic for trucks at another checkpoint, Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv. Currently, the blockade is being carried out by protesters at two checkpoints, according to Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

"On April 2, Polish farmers plan to resume blocking in the direction of the Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv checkpoint, where they temporarily suspended their actions on Thursday for the Easter holidays," Demchenko says.

Now, according to him, there is free movement in both directions at this checkpoint.

"Ukrainian border guards received information about the date of resumption of blocking actions from their Polish colleagues," Demchenko says.

Where truck traffic is currently blocked

According to the SBGS spokesperson, as of today, Polish farmers continue to block truck traffic at two checkpoints, allowing several trucks to pass through per hour or even restricting traffic altogether. We are talking about the Yahodyn and Rava-Ruska checkpoints.

"Polish protesters do not allow trucks to cross into Poland at all through Yahodyn and Rava-Ruska. In these areas, zero rates of border crossing by trucks leaving Ukraine have been recorded recently," says Demchenko.

He says that Polish farmers also let an extremely small number of trucks leave Poland per day through Yahodyn.

"Yesterday there were 70 of them. Although this is the largest infrastructure area for crossing the border by trucks," emphasizes Demchenko.

Queues

As of this morning, a total of 500 trucks are queuing in Poland in the two blocked directions, 250 in front of each of them.

Are cars and buses being blocked?

Cars and buses cross the border freely everywhere, and there are no restrictions on the movement of this category of transport on the other side of the border.

Where Poles do not block truck traffic?

Demchenko recalls that earlier Polish farmers stopped blocking truck traffic at the Krakivets, Shehyni, and Ustyluh checkpoints. These areas are now experiencing intense traffic both leaving and entering Ukraine.

However, there are still queues in Poland - 950 trucks at Krakivets and 600 at Shehyni. However, as Demchenko adds, with the current traffic intensity, drivers do not have to stand in lines for weeks.

Blockade on border with Poland

On February 9, the Polish side resumed the blockade on the border with Ukraine. This time, Polish farmers started protesting both on the country's roads and at checkpoints in Ukraine. The blockade is expected to last at least until the end of April.

Recently, on March 28, Ukraine, together with Poland and the EU, held talks to resolve the grain issue.

The meeting was attended by Prime Ministers of Poland and Ukraine Donald Tusk and Denys Shmyhal. Following the meeting, the latter said that Kyiv has five steps to resolve the problem.

Negotiations between the parties will continue. It is expected that new talks will be held in a narrow format soon and in a broad format next month.
