Poland will have permanent helicopter base near Ukraine border
A new airbase will be established in Poland, in the city of Świdnik in the Lublin Voivodeship, located near the border with Ukraine, with elicopters to be stationed there on a permanent basis, according to the Ministry of Defense of Poland.
On March 25, Vice Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Defense Wladyslaw Kosińak-Kamysz signed a letter of intent for cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense and the Lublin Voivodeship.
"We have just signed a letter of intent between the Ministry of National Defense and the city of Lublin, Lublin Voivodeship, and Lublin Airport regarding an investment planned here by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland - the establishment of a permanent helicopter aviation base of the Land Forces here in Świdnik, at Lublin Airport, which will serve the needs of the Polish Armed Forces," he said.
According to the Minister of Defense, this permanent base will be located on an area of 100 hectares, which will be provided within the framework of an agreement between the Ministry of National Defense and local government partners.
