Polish police have received information about a possible plot to assassinate Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Onet reports.

Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration spokesperson Karolina Gałecka confirmed that the ministry had received information about a possible assassination plot.

According to her, Interior and Administration Minister Marcin Kierwiński and Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak ordered the necessary measures to be taken after the police received the information.

“In connection with the information received by the police concerning a possible assassination attempt against Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the ministers ordered measures to be taken in this case,” Gałecka said.

According to the spokesperson, a meeting of security officials is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m. It is to take place at the Anti-Terrorist Center of Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW).

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the police, the Government Protection Service, and ABW officers. These agencies are to discuss the information received and the next steps in response.

Russia is waging a hybrid war against European countries, including Poland, seeking to destabilize the situation and increase pressure on countries that support Ukraine.

In September, Donald Tusk warned that the coming weeks and months could be a period of intensified Russian activity. He also did not rule out the possibility that Russia could extend its escalation to Polish territory.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys also warned of the risk of further hybrid attacks. According to him, Vilnius and its allies have the same intelligence about possible Russian operations in Europe. These include a false-flag scenario.
