Poland intends to build wall on border with Russia
Poland intends to build a wall with Russia in the near future, specifically with the Kaliningrad Oblast, states Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki.
"We have announced that we will initially begin constructing a perimeter system for electronic border security. Subsequently, we will establish the corresponding physical barriers in specific areas, and ultimately, along the entire length of the border with the Kaliningrad region," he stated.
Electronic barrier at the border with Russia
Poland began construction back in April. The system consists of more than 3,000 cameras and 200 kilometers of detection cables, which were installed approximately 199 kilometers from the Observation Center at the headquarters of the Warmian-Masurian Border Guard Division in Kentzyn.
Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland, Mariusz Kamiński, announced that Poland plans to complete the construction of the electronic barrier on the Polish-Russian border approximately "at the border of September and October."
