Pentagon chief says what Ukraine and Israel have in common

Ukraine and Israel are currently facing "relentless foes" seeking to destroy them, says the United States Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin.
"Both Ukraine and Israel are facing relentless foes who are out to annihilate them. And we see that Iran is fueling conflict in both Gaza and Ukraine by arming Hamas and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin," says the statement.
According to him, terrorist groups and "belligerent dictators" are trying to undermine international order worldwide.
"This is a moment of global challenge. But make no mistake, the United States is fully capable of continuing our strong support for Ukraine, even as we stand with Israel in its hour of need," he added.

It is worth noting that on November 22, another meeting of the contact group on defense issues of Ukraine (Ramstein format) took place.
During his address to the meeting, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin called on allies to provide Ukraine with air defense systems to protect peaceful Ukrainians during the winter.
He also noted that Ukraine's partners have formed another coalition within the framework of our country's defense. It concerns strengthening air defense.
