A passenger train derailed into the water on one of the tracks in the Komi Republic, Russia, according to the Telegram channels RIA Novosti and Mash.

According to Russian media, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, June 26, on the Inta-1 - Ugolny segment of the Northern Railway. Preliminary data indicates that nine cars of passenger train No. 511 Vorkuta - Novorossiysk derailed.

Russians claim that rescuers are already on the scene and measures are being taken to assist the passengers.

At least 15 people have been injured, all suffering minor cuts from glass and bruises from hitting shelves and tables. There were 150 passengers in the overturned cars. There are no fatalities. A total of 232 people were traveling from Vorkuta to Novorossiysk. The train consisted of 14 cars, 9 of which derailed.

The road near the accident site has been washed out, and emergency services are struggling to get through the mud and slush.

On June 5, a major train accident occurred in Czechia. It was later revealed that one of the trains was headed to Ukraine. Ukrzaliznytsia announced that there were no Ukrainians among the victims and injured. However, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs later reported that two Ukrainians died as a result of the tragedy.
