P.Diddy case: How many years in prison he faces and what are the charges
The American rapper P. Diddy (real name Sean Combs) was accused of sexual assault, drug parties, and child molestation. He was detained a few weeks ago, and now it has become known when the trial will take place, reports BBC.
When will P. Diddy's trial take place?
The rapper will stand trial in federal court on charges of human trafficking for sexual exploitation and racketeering on May 5, 2025. US District Judge Arun Subramanian made the decision on Thursday, October 10, during P.Diddy's third court appearance since his arrest in September.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson told the judge that the government would need three weeks to present its case. Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo said that the rapper's team would need only a week to prepare their case.
When the hearing ended, some of Combs' supporters lingered at the door, hoping to see the rapper as he was being led away.
The rapper quietly said: “I love you” to the group, which included his three daughters, three sons, and his mother, Janice Smalls Combs. P. Diddy also put his hand to his heart several times and made a prayer gesture.

Where is he now?
The rapper has been in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, since September 16. His lawyers insisted on his release pending trial, but a New York federal judge rejected their request because the celebrity could escape.
What P. Diddy is accused of?
Sean Combs was arrested in September on charges of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, fraud, and organizing transportation for sex workers.
In the federal criminal case, P. Diddy is accused of kidnapping, drugging, and forcing women to perform sexual acts, sometimes using firearms or the threat of violence.
During a search of his mansion in Los Angeles, police found items they said were intended for use in orgies known as White parties, including drugs and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil.

Sean Combs is also facing several lawsuits accusing him of rape and assault.
P.Diddy's legal problems began in late 2023 when he was sued by his ex-girlfriend Cassandra Ventura, also known as Cassie. She accused him of abusing and raping her.
This lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount one day after it was filed, and Combs insisted on his innocence.
A few weeks later, several women filed lawsuits accusing him of sexual harassment, with allegations dating back to 1991. One of them said that she was a victim of human trafficking for sexual exploitation and gang rape by the rapper and two other people when she was 17 years old.
