Overnight Russian drone and air bomb attacks cause major fire in Sumy region

On the night of May 20, Russian troops attacked the Bilopillia and Yunakivka communities in the Sumy region using drones and guided aerial bombs. A large fire broke out at one of the civilian facilities, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reports.
Bilopillia community
Due to the drone attack, a large fire erupted at a civilian site in the community. A video shows flames engulfing a building after the strike.
Details of Bilopillia shelling
According to the Sumy region police, Russians targeted the town of Bilopillia. The shelling caused fires at a government building and several pavilions in the local market.
"Preliminary reports indicate there are no civilian casualties, but significant damage has been done to the infrastructure," the police added.
Yunakivka community
The Yunakivka community was attacked with guided aerial bombs. Two residential houses were destroyed in the strike, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
Russian attacks on Ukraine
Russia continues to regularly shell Ukrainian territory, using a wide range of weaponry: missiles, artillery, attack drones, and guided aerial bombs. The attacks occur both during the day and at night.
Frontline regions and settlements suffer the most destruction and losses. Many of the strikes are deliberately aimed at civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and peaceful residents.
On the night of May 19, Sumy region once again came under enemy fire. Six strikes were recorded in the Shostka community.
