Over 100 Russian soldiers surrender in month on Tavria front, Ukrainian military reports
Over a hundred Russian soldiers surrendered to Ukrainian defenders in the past month. These figures are specific to the Tavria front, according to a statement from the spokesperson of the Unified Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria front, Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun.
According to him, about 10 occupiers surrendered as of the day.
"Within three days, there are already 30 captured aggressors. And within a month - over 100 such individuals," notes Shtupun.
He adds that this is how enemy soldiers attempt to survive.
Avdiivka battles
It's worth noting that since the beginning of October, Russian soldiers have continued active assaults in the Avdiivka area. They aim to encircle and subsequently occupy the city.
Ukrainian defenders, however, maintain their defense and inflict significant losses on the enemy. As of mid-December, the United States stated that over a two-month period, Russians had lost approximately 13,000 soldiers near Avdiivka.
Additionally, enemy fighters are surrendering to Ukrainian defenders. Shtupun has previously mentioned that such occurrences are becoming more frequent. One of the reasons cited is the worsening weather conditions.
