Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has made another anti-Ukrainian statement on X. According to him, Ukrainian intelligence is spying on Hungarians and has infiltrated the opposition party Tisza, which he called "pro-Ukrainian."

"They have infiltrated public life and politics, providing technological assistance to their allies to help them gain power here. Once we said "the Russians are already in the pantry", now we must say: the Ukrainians are already in your smartphone. We will not let this slide!!" the head of the Hungarian government wrote.

He also claimed that Ukraine has given the Tisza party the tools it needs to conduct a successful election campaign.

The phrase "the Russians are already in the pantry" originates from the 1965 Hungarian film The Corporal and Others. It means an "irreversible situation," that "the enemy is already inside," or that "the inevitable cannot be avoided."

Earlier, Hungarian media reported that the personal data of 18,000 users of the Tisza party app might have been leaked into the public domain.

Journalists claimed that the app may have been developed by the Ukrainian company PettersonApps, but the Tisza press service stated that it was developed by Hungarian specialists.

Recently, media investigations revealed that Hungary had been spying on EU structures for years and attempting to recruit EU officials to serve its interests.

As is known, Orbán’s ruling party in Hungary builds its policy on opposing EU decisions — for example, Budapest has repeatedly blocked anti-Russian sanctions and Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

However, just days ago, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will become a member of the bloc despite Hungary’s veto.

In response, Orbán accused Zelenskyy of "moral blackmail" over Ukraine’s EU membership bid.
