On the night of August 6, unknown persons shot at the office of Lars Düsterhöft, a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from the Oberschönweide district, according to the German politician on Facebook.

According to the SPD party deputy, four shots were fired at his office. Additionally, a phrase was written on the building's wall: "We condemn Germany for genocide."

The politician is convinced that these actions were triggered by the "situation in the Middle East." In this context, he criticized the German government for supporting the Israeli authorities in the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

"The shooting at my office and the slogans on the building's wall are criminal actions that deeply affect and shock me. What’s next—will someone stand in front of me with a gun and pull the trigger?" he wrote.

In May, left-wing extremists set fire to the summer house of Rheinmetall defense conglomerate head Armin Papperger.

They accused the German company of allegedly profiting from the war between Russia and Ukraine. It should be noted that Rheinmetall actively supports Ukrainian defenders and supplies them with weaponry.
