Occupiers shelled Donetsk region on August 20 - 4 people wounded
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation shelled Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, and Toretsk in Donetsk region. As a result of the enemy attack, four people were injured, according to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations are being carried out in criminal proceedings related to violations of the laws and customs of war," the statement reads.
According to preliminary information, the Russian Armed Forces used artillery against the civilian population. As a result of shelling in residential areas, four citizens, including two women aged 51 and 57, and two men aged 54 and 81, sustained various degrees of physical injuries.
Two of the injured were inside their own homes during the shelling, while the other two, a man and a woman, were in vehicles traveling on one of the region's roads at the time.
They were transported to medical facilities with shrapnel wounds, concussion, and contusion.
Additionally, according to law enforcement, the explosions damaged residential buildings, fences, and outbuildings.
The situation in the Donetsk region
The Russians open fire on cities and villages in the Donetsk region every day. Settlements near the frontlines and even those in relative rear areas are constantly under attack.
For example, just on August 17, as a result of Russian shelling:
- in the Donetsk direction, 2 people were injured in Katerynivka, Mariinka community.
- in the Horlivka direction, 1 person died in Bohdanivka, Chasovyarivska community.
