Occupants kill last resident of border village in Sumy region
Russian occupants shelled the village of Stepok in Sumy region. The last resident of the village was killed in the attack, according to Suspilne.
The man's death was confirmed by his son, local authorities, and the SSU. The body of the 60-year-old man was found on January 24. Local authorities report that the occupants probably shelled the village last weekend or on Monday, January 22.

The son of the deceased notes that there was a direct hit of an enemy shell into the room where the man was. His father was the last resident of the village, all other people evacuated.
The village of Stepok is located near the border with Russia, near the Pokrovka-Kolotylivka humanitarian crossing point.
The SSU launched an investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Russian occupants continue to try to penetrate the territory of Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Earlier, the military warned about the threat of a subversive group in Sumy region and emphasized that it is still dangerous near the border with Russia.
