Nvidia introduces new graphics cards 2 times faster than previous generation
Today, Nvidia announced its RTX 50 series GPUs. After several months of leaks and rumors, the next generation of Blackwell's RTX GPUs is now officially unveiled, and there will be four of them, according to The Verge, an American computer technology website.

At CES, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a new generation of RTX 50 graphics cards. The series includes four models: the flagship RTX 5090 for $1999, the RTX 5080 for $999, the RTX 5070 Ti for $749, and the RTX 5070 for $549. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will go on sale on January 30, with the rest of the models coming in February.

All graphics cards have a new Founders Edition design with two fans and a 3D evaporation chamber. The cards support PCIe Gen 5 and are equipped with DisplayPort 2.1b connectors for connecting displays with resolutions up to 8K and 165Hz refresh rates.
The flagship RTX 5090 is equipped with 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, 1792 GB/s of bandwidth, and 21,760 CUDA cores. The card's performance is expected to be twice as fast as the RTX 4090, thanks to new DLSS 4 technologies and Blackwell architecture. However, the power consumption of the RTX 5090 will be 575 watts, and a 1000-watt power supply will be required.

The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 offer more affordable solutions. The RTX 5070 Ti features 16GB of GDDR7 and 8960 CUDA cores with a power consumption of 300W, while the RTX 5070 has 12GB of GDDR7 and 6144 CUDA cores with a power consumption of 250W. Nvidia claims that both models will be twice as fast as their predecessors.

Nvidia also introduced the RTX 50 series for laptops. The RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 graphics cards will be available in laptops starting in March 2025.
New Nvidia technologies include DLSS 4, RTX Neural Shaders, and RTX Neural Faces. DLSS 4 uses AI transformers to generate additional frames and improve image quality. According to Nvidia, Multi Frame Generation in DLSS 4 allows you to increase the frame rate up to 8 times.

RTX Neural Shaders are used for texture compression in games, and RTX Neural Faces improve the quality of faces using generative AI. These technologies are aimed at significantly improving real-time graphics and performance.
The announcement of the RTX 50 series comes more than two years after the release of the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, both based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. The new cards offer revolutionary improvements in performance and energy efficiency, making them a significant step forward in the world of graphics cards.
