Slovaks have gathered over 4 million euros for Ukraine, which will now be spent on producing ammunition in Czechia. This includes nearly 2,700 artillery shells, according to České noviny.

It is noted that they should be delivered to Ukraine no later than the end of the summer. It is also indicated that over 4.17 million euros have been collected so far.

Participant of the Gift to Putin project, Dodo Dobrik, announced that they are consulting with the Ministry of Defense of Czechia regarding the purchase of ammunition. They plan to manufacture them at the Czech company STV Group.

According to Dobrik, a memorandum on the purchase of ammunition within the framework of the Slovak collection will be signed in May.

Initiative of Slovakia citizens

The Slovak government refuses to assist Ukraine with armaments. Earlier, Czech President Petr Pavel announced that there are a significant number of artillery shells outside the EU that can be purchased and transferred to Ukraine. Since then, several countries have begun reallocating funds to implement this idea.

In addition to this, citizens of Slovakia have decided to join the initiative, gathering over 4 million euros independently to procure shells for Ukraine.
