Not only Kazan. Airports also closed in other Russian cities
On the morning of January 5, several airports in Russian cities were closed. This was due to an air threat, Russian media report.
Russia’s aviation authority announced that airports in Nizhnekamsk, Izhevsk, and Perm had restricted operations to "ensure flight safety."
Earlier, the airport in Kazan was also closed, with "temporary restrictions on civil aircraft flights" imposed.
Reports surfaced that a Carpet plan was activated at Kazan Airport. This plan is announced in case of a threat to aircraft or if a border breach by Russia is detected.
