Norwegian Member of Parliament Jonas Andersen Sayed has set off on a cycling journey from Oslo to Kyiv to raise awareness of Russia's war against Ukraine and collect donations for the Ukrainian military, according to the Ternopil Regional Military Administration on Facebook.

Norwegian Member of Parliament Jonas Andersen Sayed has begun a cycling journey from Oslo to Kyiv to show support for Ukraine and raise donations for the country's defenders.

The politician has already arrived in Ternopil. His route has taken him through the Nordic and Baltic countries. Along the way, Sayed has been meeting with local communities, speaking about Russia's war against Ukraine and the need for continued support for Kyiv.

He also emphasized that Ukraine's security is directly tied to Europe's security. Sayed believes that if Ukraine were to lose the war, the threat posed by Russia could spread to the Baltic states and Northern Europe.

Charity is one of the ride's main goals

During the cycling trip, Sayed is also raising funds for an organization that has already delivered more than 170 vehicles, along with essential equipment, to the Ukrainian military.

"I represent the Norwegian Parliament and speak on behalf of my country: we support Ukraine and will continue to do so. But it was also important for me to personally make this journey to show that support must come not only in the form of decisions but also through concrete actions," Jonas Sayed said.

This is not the Norwegian lawmaker's first visit to Ukraine. He has traveled to Kyiv at least ten times, and this is his second cycling trip to the Ukrainian capital.

As previously reported, Norway will allocate NOK 3 billion (around €268 million) to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

It also recently emerged that Norway hopes China can help bring Russia to the negotiating table with Ukraine.
