Baked noodles and cheese casserole is a great fusion of tender texture with hearty ingredients. This dish is perfect for both breakfast and dinner, appealing to both children and adults, and is super easy to make, according to the Ukrainian Cuisine.


  • 700g of cheese
  • 3 egg yolks + 1 for glazing
  • 100ml of sour cream
  • 200g of sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar (about 10g)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Lemon zest
  • 200g of noodles
  • 30g of heavy cream for greasing
  • Bread crumbs for coating


1. Cook the noodles until done in salted water. In a bowl, combine cheese, egg yolks, salt, lemon zest, sugar, vanilla sugar, and sour cream. Beat everything until the mixture becomes homogeneous.
2. Then add the cooked noodles to the mixture and stir well with a spatula.
3. Prepare the baking dish by greasing it with heavy cream on the bottom and sides.
4. Sprinkle breadcrumbs nicely on top. Spread the mixture evenly throughout the dish and level it with a spatula. Glaze the top with the remaining egg yolk.
5. Preheat the oven to 160-170 degrees Celsius and bake the casserole for 40-50 minutes until done. After baking, let the casserole cool, then slice into portions. Enjoy!
