Russia has cynically fabricated a story about a NATO officer's meeting allegedly held in a restaurant in Kryvyi Rih that was supposedly targeted in a precision missile strike, said Ukrainian General Staff spokesperson Dmytro Lykhoviy.

According to Lykhoviy, Russia lied about several key details:

  • That 85 NATO officers were present in the restaurant hit by an Iskander missile;

  • That the missile had a high-explosive warhead;

  • That the restaurant was destroyed.

"Here is the footage from the cameras of the same RoseMarine restaurant (formerly Magellan) at the moment of the strike on the residential area in Kryvyi Rih. Not far from a children's playground. No military personnel, no NATO, no high-explosive warhead - only debris flying, and the restaurant is still standing. In the yard, 70 to 100 meters from the restaurant, 19 civilians were killed, including 9 children," he emphasized.

The surveillance video was reportedly published by the French outlet France24.

Strike on Kryvyi Rih

Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kryvyi Rih on Friday, April 4. As of now, 19 people have been confirmed dead, including nine children.

Following the attack, Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed the target was a restaurant where a meeting of NATO officers was taking place.

Notably, the Russians used a missile with a cluster warhead in the attack, aiming to cause as many civilian casualties as possible.
