No breakouts, no wrinkles, just radiant skin: Which beauty vitamin you should take
Correct products and supplements address the root cause, not just symptoms, and work on enhancing body beauty externally and internally. It's worth knowing about the benefits of vitamin E, widely recognized as the beauty vitamin, according to Ukrainian dietitian Natalia Samoylenko.
Wrinkles prevention
In the battle against breakouts, skin peeling, and premature wrinkles, fat-soluble vitamin E comes to the rescue - known as the beauty vitamin.
According to experts, this micronutrient positively affects the skin, making it healthy and elastic.
Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants; it prevents cell oxidation, neutralizes the effects of free radicals, slows down skin aging, and affects the entire body.
You can replenish your supply from both animal and plant sources.
Products containing Vitamin E include:
- Wheat germ, sunflower, and soybean oils
- Cream butter
- Nuts and seeds, sunflower seeds
- Whole grain sprouts, whole grains
- Porridge (buckwheat and wheat)
- Broccoli
- Egg yolk
- Offal
Norm of vitamin E
A dietitian explained that the recommended daily vitamin E intake ranges from 8 to 13 mg daily. This daily dose can be obtained from food sources. Consuming a couple of teaspoons of cream butter or wheat germ oil is sufficient.
Therapeutic doses range from 50 to 100 mg, but these doses must be prescribed by a doctor.
Sources of these micronutrients should be present in the diet every day. It's difficult to achieve an excess of this beauty vitamin, and its positive properties will beneficially impact not only the external appearance but also reproductive function, improve vision quality, and strengthen muscles.
Signs of vitamin E deficiency:
- Pale skin, lethargy, general and muscle weakness
- Thinning pulse, decreased blood pressure, and body temperature
- Worsening vision acuity
- Constipation due to impaired intestinal peristalsis
Excess of any vitamin is always worse than deficiency because it's more difficult to treat. The toxicity of vitamin E itself is not very high.
Signs and symptoms of vitamin E excess:
- Lethargy, drowsiness
- Headaches
- Increased blood pressure
- Nausea, digestive disturbances, diarrhea
- Muscle weakness
- Hemorrhage in the retina of the eyes
- Double vision
