Night strike on Kyiv: City official reports first casualty

Overnight on October 25, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko reported the first casualty from the strike.
"Due to the Russian attack last night, one person was killed. Our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones."
Tkachenko added that, as of 9:00 a.m., ten Kyiv residents had been injured to varying degrees.
Attack on the capital
Russian forces struck Kyiv overnight with ballistic missiles, hitting the Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Darnytskyi districts, according to the State Emergency Service.
At one location, a fire broke out in a non-residential building. At another site, debris fell in an open area, damaging windows in nearby buildings. Videos of large fires and smoke spreading across the city circulated online. Rescue teams and relevant services are already at the scenes.
Earlier, on the night of October 23, Kyiv was attacked by drones, causing damage in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnianskyi districts. Residential buildings and a kindergarten were damaged, and people were injured.
