Zelenskyy's response to the night attack
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already commented on the Russian night attack. He noted that the enemy was again targeting Ukrainian foodstuff and called on the world to respond.
"Another night of war, another night of our heroic air defence's efforts. We are defending ourselves to the maximum of our capabilities. We shot down a lot of Shahed drones. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Unfortunately, there is damage. The most significant ones are in the South of the country. Russian terrorists have once again attacked ports, grain, and global food security. All our operational services worked effectively. The world must respond. When civilian ports are targeted, when terrorists deliberately destroy even grain elevators, it is a threat to everyone on all continents. Russia can and must be stopped," Zelenskyy wrote.
Air defence forces shot down 23 Shahed drones
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy launched Shahed drones from three directions - Kursk, Primorsk-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (Crimea).
The Ukrainian Air Force, in cooperation with the air defence of other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, destroyed 23 attack UAVs overnight, with most of the Shahed drones downed in the Kyiv and Odesa regions. However, some of the drones launched by the enemy managed to hit port infrastructure in the Odesa region.
