On the night of January 24, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones and missiles. Damage and destruction were recorded in five districts, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

It is known that one person was killed and at least four others were injured as a result of the enemy attack.

Fires broke out in several districts, and damage was reported.

In the Holosiivskyi district, shelling caused destruction on the top floor of a confectionery factory. One person was killed and two others were injured. A private residential house was also damaged.

In the Dniprovskyi district, rescuers extinguished a fire on the grounds of a garage cooperative. At another location, they also put out a fire involving a fuel tanker, where a fuel leak occurred over an estimated area of 300 square meters. The fire has now been extinguished. One person was injured.

In the Darnytskyi district, destruction was recorded on the 6th and 7th floors of an unoccupied residential high-rise building, as well as damage to balconies on the 8th and 9th floors. A fire involving exterior wall insulation covering an area of 3 square meters was extinguished.

In the Solomianskyi district, an office building was damaged. No fires or casualties were reported.

Night attack on Kyiv on January 24

As a reminder, during the night of January 24, Kyiv came under a combined Russian attack.

At around 1:00 a.m., an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of drone strikes, after which explosions were heard across the city. Some time later, Russian forces also launched ballistic missiles toward the capital.

Casualties have already been reported, including one confirmed death.

Specifically:

  • In the Desnianskyi district, debris fell on a non-residential building.

  • In the Dniprovskyi district, debris from a drone caused a fire at a garage cooperative, and a fuel tanker caught fire in a parking lot. Additionally, debris shattered windows in a multi-story residential building.

  • In the Darnytskyi district, drone fragments fell near a private medical facility, damaging windows in the building.

  • In the Holosiivskyi district, falling debris in a non-residential area caused a fire, while at another address, windows in a private house were shattered.

  • In the Solomianskyi district, debris damaged a six-story office building.

As a result of the large-scale Russian attack, residents on Kyiv’s left bank are experiencing disruptions to heating and water supply.
