“Growing up in Durham, North Carolina, we dreamed of becoming filmmakers — but Hollywood felt impossibly far away. Everything changed when we watched the behind-the-scenes documentaries for 'The Lord of the Rings' on-the-ground films that showed the real nuts and bolts of how a massive production actually gets made. We saw how stressed Peter Jackson was and thought: yep, that’s the dream,” the Duffer brothers said.
The trailer, which is already gaining traction online, features footage from the final script read-through.
Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink struggle to hold back tears as they realize the ten-year journey has come to an end.
The Duffers emphasized that the hardest moment for them was seeing the words End Series on the last page of the script.
In the documentary, viewers will see:
- Large-scale rehearsals and storyboard development;
- The complex process behind visual effects and action sequences;
- Personal videos filmed by the actors between takes.
As a reminder, the final episode of Stranger Things was released on the platform on December 31.
However, fans should not lose hope. The Duffer brothers have already confirmed that they are working on a full-scale spin-off that will introduce new characters and an entirely different mythology of the Upside Down universe.
