Netanyahu reveals reason for Hezbollah leader’s elimination
Yesterday, Israeli airstrikes killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Today, September 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained the reasoning behind this move, according to Sky News.
Netanyahu declared that the State of Israel had killed the chief murderer, Hassan Nasrallah, the day before.
He emphasized that Israel settled its accounts with those responsible for the deaths of countless Israelis and many citizens of other nations, including hundreds of Americans and dozens of French nationals.
The Israeli Prime Minister stated that Nasrallah would no longer be a terrorist, as he had been one before. He added that Nasrallah had been the axis and the central driving force of Iran’s axis of evil.
“He and his people were the architects of the plan to destroy Israel. He was not only activated by Iran but many times he also activated Iran," said Netanyahu.
Netanyahu stated that earlier in the week, he had concluded that the powerful strikes the IDF had launched against Hezbollah over the past few days would not be sufficient.
He added that Nasrallah's removal was a necessary step toward achieving Israel's goals, which include the return of northern residents to their homes and shifting the balance of power in the region for years to come.
“As long as Nasrallah lived, he would have quickly restored the capabilities we took away from Hezbollah. That's why I gave the directive - and Nasrallah is no longer with us," Netanyahu said. He added that his removal contributed to the return of their residents to their homes in the north and the return of their kidnapped in the south.
The Israeli Prime Minister further noted that the more Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar realizes that Hezbollah will no longer come to his aid, the greater the chances Israel has of securing the return of its kidnapped citizens.
In his speech, Netanyahu thanked the IDF, the Air Force, the Ministry of Defense, the Mossad, and the Shin Bet for their significant achievements but warned Israelis that the work is not yet done, and in the coming days, they would face considerable challenges, which they would resolve together.
“All those who oppose the axis of evil, all those who groan under the violent tyranny of Iran and its proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Iran itself, and elsewhere, all of them were filled with hope today. I say to the citizens of those countries: Israel stands with you," the Prime Minister said.
Continuing his address, Netanyahu asserted that there is no place in Iran or the Middle East beyond Israel's reach. He stated that the country is currently at a historic turning point.
One year ago, on October 7, Israel's enemies attacked, believing the nation was on the path to extinction. Yet, a year later, blow after blow, achievement after achievement, they now understand how much their hopes have faded.
Netanyahu concluded by stating that they are determined to continue striking their enemies, returning their residents to their homes, and bringing back all of their kidnapped. He emphasized that they do not forget them for a single minute. Addressing the citizens of Israel, he reiterated: together they will fight, and with God's help, together they will win.
Biden's reaction
US President Joe Biden officially responded to the elimination of Hassan Nasrallah. According to him, the death of the leader of the terrorist organization Hezbollah represents a measure of justice.
“His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians,” the US president said.
