Netanyahu has spoken with Trump three times since the election: Very important conversations, he says
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken three times with US President-elect Donald Trump over the past few days. They discussed strengthening a strong alliance between the two countries, reports The Guardian.
“These were good and very important conversations,” Netanyahu said.
He explains that he and Trump see the threat posed by Iran in the same way.
“We see eye to eye on the Iranian threat in all its components, and the danger posed by it. We also see the great opportunities before Israel, in the field of peace and its expansion, and in other fields,” the prime minister added.
Earlier it became known that Trump was preparing a strategy to increase pressure on Iran. It includes a sharp increase in sanctions and restrictions on oil sales.
At the same time, an Israeli journalist says that Trump has his own interest in Israel launching a devastating strike against Iran.
Netanyahu appointed a new Israeli ambassador to the United States after Trump's election victory.
