Nawrocki breaks silence on fatal terror attack in Krakow

According to Nawrocki, he reacted with great concern to reports of the tragic events in the center of Krakow.

"I remain in contact with the relevant services and expect a full explanation of the circumstances surrounding these tragic events. The head of the National Security Bureau is on his way to Kraków," the Polish president stated.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also responded to the shooting in central Krakow. He was among the first to label the attack as an act of terrorism.

The head of government emphasized that the Minister of Internal Affairs is constantly keeping him informed about the situation in the city.

"The police are investigating the background and all the circumstances of the attack," Tusk wrote.

What is known about the terrorist attack in Krakow

On Saturday, November 7, a shooting occurred in the center of the Polish city of Krakow. According to local police, around 15:00, an unidentified individual drove a car onto the city's main market square and began shooting at people.

As a result of the attack, five people were killed, and approximately ten others were injured. The shooter himself was wounded by law enforcement officers. He was hospitalized, and emergency services continue to operate at the scene of the incident.

Videos and photographs appearing on social media indicate that the attacker may have moved through the city's historic center in a black car, from which he fired indiscriminately. Footage shows the bodies of the deceased near buildings.

Eyewitness recordings suggest that the shooting took place near St. Mary's Basilica. A medical helicopter also landed in this area.
