It is necessary to strive to convince allies that Russia’s aggressive intentions are not mere rhetoric but a reality, states Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.

According to him, Lithuania must continue to work on persuading its allies, especially those in the West and South, that Russia’s aggressive intentions are not just rhetoric but a reality.

“No European country can feel safe without being prepared,” Nausėda said.

During a meeting with the heads of Lithuania’s diplomatic missions, the president paid particular attention to support for Ukraine and Lithuania’s role in international organizations.

“Europe must take on great responsibility for Ukraine’s future. Lithuania is ready to continue setting an example,” the head of state stated.

The Baltic countries are preparing for potential threats from Russia. Nausėda previously emphasized that the three countries need a comprehensive security plan.

According to the defense ministers of the Baltic states, if a ceasefire occurs in Ukraine, the Kremlin will begin actively redeploying troops to the northeast to prepare for a war with NATO.

Furthermore, Nausėda does not expect the war in Ukraine to end anytime soon.
