February 2024 promises to be truly rich in movie premieres, not only romantic ones dedicated to Valentine's Day. RBC-Ukraine has prepared a selection of interesting and anticipated movie premieres for you.
"Perfect Days"
On February 1st, the film "Perfect Days," directed by the German filmmaker Wim Wenders, will be released in theaters.
The protagonist of the story is a toilet cleaner in Tokyo named Hirayama. He is completely content with his simple and peaceful life. The man follows a specific daily routine, dedicating his free time to listening to rock music, reading books, and cultivating trees. However, unexpected encounters reveal another side of the character's personality.
"Sunrise"
The protagonist of the film, Fallon, is a man who roams the earth like a nocturnal monster, experiencing the loss of his family and knowing that the ruthless manipulator Reynolds is to blame for it. The drama is set to premiere on February 8th.
"The Teachers' Lounge"
On February 8th, screenings of the German drama "The Teachers' Lounge" will begin in Ukraine. The main protagonist is the young idealistic teacher Сarla Novak, who is troubled by the fate of her students. When one of the school's students is suspected of theft, she decides to get to the bottom of the matter. However, her actions later lead to unforeseen consequences.
"Mars Express"
On February 15th, screenings of the science fiction animated detective film "Mars Express" will begin in Ukraine. The events of the film unfold on Mars in the 23rd century. Two private detectives investigate the disappearance of a young woman - an 18-year-old student who piques not only their interest.
"Carol"
On February 15th, in celebration of the romantic holiday - Valentine's Day, the melodrama "Carol," filmed in 2016, will be released. The events of the film take place in 1950s New York. A young girl, Therese, aspires to build a career, while the homemaker Carol is immersed in the family routine. Their encounter will change both of their lives forever.

On February 22nd, the historical drama "Zone of Interest" will be released. The main characters of the film are a man and his wife who build a dream home with a cozy garden, expensive furnishings, and family evenings reading with their children. Only the high fence, impossible to ignore, reminds us that next to their idyllic corner stands a concentration camp where the man works as a commandant, and life is not a fairy tale.
"Cat & Dog – The Great Crossing"
The film "Cat & Dog – The Great Crossing" hits theaters on February 22nd. The main characters escape from their owners at the airport, and their owners must go a long way to retrieve their beloved pets.
